Frequently asked questions
What is Stackmark?
Stackmark is a free catalog of AI building blocks. It brings prompts, skills, workflows, agents, tools, MCP servers, models, datasets, APIs and frameworks together in one searchable place, with each listing's source, license and popularity.
Where do Stackmark's listings come from?
Most listings are imported every day from public sources: the official Model Context Protocol (MCP) Registry, the most-downloaded models and datasets on Hugging Face, popular GitHub repositories for each category, and a hand-picked list of AI APIs. Members also share their own building blocks, which moderators review before they're published.
How are results ranked?
Searches are ranked by how well a listing matches your words, combined with its popularity: GitHub stars for code, and likes for Hugging Face models and datasets. Browsing a category sorts by popularity by default, and you can switch to recently updated.
Does Stackmark host or run these tools?
No. Stackmark lists and links to building blocks; it doesn't host, run or vouch for them. Each listing links to its official source. Check the source, license, permissions and data handling before you use anything.
How does Stackmark keep the catalog clean?
Duplicates of the same repository are merged into one listing, and low-quality entries such as copies of tutorial examples or unfilled templates are hidden automatically. Moderators can also fix an item's category or hide it.
Is Stackmark free?
Yes. Browsing is free and needs no account. Sign in with GitHub to save collections, vote, comment, follow members, and share your own building blocks.
How do I add my MCP server, agent or prompt?
Sign in and use Contribute to submit it; moderators review submissions before they go public. MCP servers published to the official MCP Registry, and popular GitHub repositories, usually appear automatically within a day.
How do I get a listing corrected or removed?
Email [email protected] with the listing's link. If you own the project, we'll update or remove it.
Can AI assistants use Stackmark?
Yes. Stackmark publishes an llms.txt file describing the site, a sitemap of every listing, and a public JSON API for searching the catalog.
